PUNE: Animal lovers in the city on Sunday fed around 200 stray dogs under the initiative 'project feed'.

Pet Force volunteer Malliga Pillay Kadam said that she plans to make 'project feed' a regular feature in the city to encourage others to come together and execute similar projects.

"I executed the project on my birthday and made it special even for the furry ones that often sleep hungry during the rains. My friends in other cities too decided to carry out a similar exercise, feeding stray dogs in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and even Germany," she said.

"Around 45kg of food was provided to over 200 dogs in Pune alone," added Nitin Kadam of Pet Force. Michaela P R of Germany, Ritesh Loya of Hyderabad, Gargi G Lakhmale of Mumbai and Rajeev Thakur of Delhi, all fed around 45 dogs in their respective localities.
