After adopting a stray from a construction site, inspiration struck IHM Grad, Ishmeet Singh Chandok to provide healthy and nutritious food for dogs, which he felt was lacking on a day to day basis.

What is ‘Harley’s Corner’ ?

Named after their adopted dog ‘Harley’, ‘Harley’s Corner, based out of Andheri aims at delivering healthy and nutritous food for dogs in Mumbai.

How did ‘Harley’s Corner’ start ?

After adopting ‘Harley’ from a construction site, we wanted to provide him healthy and nutritious food on a day to day basis, being a chef and having a culinary background, I understood the value of good food and wanted Harley to have the same. With that, we started ‘Harley’s Corner’ with an aim to provide good, daily meals to pets.

What was your biggest motivation to start Harley’s Corner ?

The biggest motivation was of course Harley, we felt that Harley deserves delicious home style cooked food. Food doesn’t go out of this kitchen without his approval. All the trials and tasting that we do, the final nod of approval comes from Harley himself.

What challenges have you faced so far ?

The biggest challenge that we’ve faced is making pet parents understand what’s good for their pets. Everyone wants cream on their cake and basically want it to look good for themselves and social media, what they don’t realize is that those products aren’t good for their pets. The pets don’t care how pretty the cake looks or what icing goes on it, they are more than happy to eat it, it’s up to us to realize what’s good for them and what’s not and stop opting for vanity.

What would you like to say to a aspiring or new pet parent ?

Of all the time that you spend on social media, please spend 10-20 minutes learning about your pet’s needs. Read what’s good for them and what’s not, what they should be eating and what they should absolutely avoid.
