Q. Can you tell us something about yourself?

A. My name is Rushab Jain and I live in Andheri. I am self-employed and I live in a joint family.

Q. Can you tell us something about your pet?

A. I have a Labrador his name is Max Jain. He is almost 2 years old and I got him home when he was 3 months old.

Q. What was it like when you first saw him?

A. When he came home he was very small and he was clueless as to what was happening around him. I had got him from Pune so he had travelled from there to Mumbai so, he was very tired on his first day. We were all prepared to welcome our new baby into the family. I am the first one to bring a pet at home & was very curious to know how my little one was doing when he was with his mom in the initial days. So, I used to be in constant touch with the breeder.

Q. What has been the biggest challenge of being a pet parent?

A. The biggest challenge was trying to cope up with his pee & poop schedule as he was very small and hence I found it difficult to train him as to where he should pee and where he should poop.

Q. What has been the rewarding part of being a pet parent?

A. The rewarding part is that all the kids and other members of my family love him. Kids in my family are becoming more responsible and they are getting aware of various duties. He has taught us to love each one.

Q. What has been your learning experience of being a pet parent?

A. The biggest learning experience has been that your pet requires love and affection. You need to have a lot of patience when raising a dog, just like a human child they become matured with time and behave well when they grow up.

Q. Can you give us a message for new / aspiring pet parent?

A. After getting a pet you need to give time to your pet so that they can adjust to your house and other family members. Again, it is a long process wherein you will have to take care of your pet in the initial years and later they will take care of you.
