Q. Can you tell us something about yourself?

A. I am Nikita and I am a pilot.

Q. Can you tell us something about your pet?

A. I have two cats, one male, one female and both are stray cats. The male cat is two-and-a-half-year-old and his name is Sheru. My female cat’s name is Siya whom I had rescued from a place in Malad. She is just two months old.

Q. What was it like when you first saw them?

A. I already had a male cat but when I saw Siya searching the litter probably because she was hungry, I felt sorry for her and so I decided to adopt her. As you live with animals you develop a feeling which enables you to take care of people whom you really love.

Q. What has been the biggest challenge of being a pet parent?

A. Cats love cleanliness so the biggest challenge is keeping their surroundings clean. Again, for every cat you need to have separate litter boxes because my cats are allergic to certain kind of foods.

Q. What has been the rewarding part of being a pet parent?

A. I have always been a pet person but till now I never had cats so, I am having a good and an interesting experience with them. Like dogs, even cats are lovely creatures who love you for what you are.

Q. What has been your learning experience of being a pet parent?

A.I have learnt to care for animals around me and that’s the reason I thought of having another pet. That’s when I adopted a two month old cat who had faced a very bad experience in life.

Q. Can you give us a message for new / aspiring pet parent?

A. If you are thinking of getting a cat then you should do your research. If you know someone who is a cat parent, then you should talk with them. They will be able to share their inside story as to how you will be required to take care of your cat.
