Q. Can you tell us something about yourself?

A. Hi, my name is Prerna and I am currently a student at Jamnabai International school.

Q. Can you tell us something about your pet?

A. My pet’s name is Nora and she is a stray cat.

Q. What was it like when you first saw her?

A. I was not planning to have a pet but one day I was on my way, and I heard a kitten’s meow. I tried to figure as to from where the sound was coming and it led me to her. She was alone near a Bank which made me feel sorry for her so I thought of fostering her for a while. With time, I became so attached to her that I decided to adopt her.

Q. What has been the biggest challenge of being a pet parent?

A. The biggest challenge is looking after her medication. Whenever she falls sick, I am terrified. You can say that she has become a member of my family.

Q. What has been the rewarding part of being a pet parent?

A. The most rewarding part is that, I have come to know that in today’s world beauty does not lie in breed because though I have a stray cat, still she loves me very much. She is truly an example of the saying, “Big things come in smaller packages”.

Q. What has been your learning experience of being a pet parent?

A. I have learnt that just like dogs even cats are very affectionate. One more thing I know that they are completely comfortable with human’s presence around themselves. Cats are also able to understand everything just like dogs.

Q. Can you give us a message for new / aspiring pet parent?

A. My message would be rather than buying a pet you should adopt one because there is no difference between strays as well as one of a good breed. Again, stray dogs/cats don’t have anyone to look after them and by adopting them you can give them a good home and a better life.
